Looks like congress is gonna give the president permission to spend more money. One sentence in this article really caught by eye:

"....when your cash burn rate averages more than $100 billion a month.”

I wonder why Obama didn't do a "stress test" on the US goverment when he did it on all the banks?????

This new entitlement will be no different than any other entitlement.  Its cost will continue to balloon. 

As the Wall Street Journal noted, the House Ways and Means Committee originally estimated that Medicaid’s “first-year costs would be $238 million. Instead it hit more than $1 billion, and costs have kept climbing.” Staurt Varney makes the same point on FOX News.

Through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA the government is now behind 80% of new home loans.  These huge housing subsides will cost tax payers half a trillion in the end.  Even worse, these programs only encourage people who can not afford a house to borrow more than they should.  When will we stop making the same mistake over and over again? 

Sounds like another stimulus might be brewing in the Dem oven.  Like the artilce highlights, this is evidence of the first one not working....why would be try it again.  A new strategy is needed.

Today at worked I stumbled upon the WhiteHouse webpage and found a historic spreadsheet of "Summary of Summary of Receipts, Outlays, and Surpluses or Deficits".  So I thought it would be interesting to graph the data, as sometimes a picture is a thousand words. 

This is the result.  Mind you that 2010-2012 is estimated by the White House.

The White House briefing transcripts are becoming my new favorite reading material. Here is a portion from 9/10/2009.  It is in regards to the cost of health insurance.  Please tell me if you think Obama has even the slightest idea of what this will cost.  It baffles me that he can throw out assurances of cost effectiveness when they admit to not even knowing.  Enjoy.Read more
