Dear President Obama

The following letter is in reference to your Administration's recent comments regarding FOX News.

Our economy is still in what you have labeled 'the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression'. Our military is still engaged in a war in Iraq and still left unsure of its future involvement in Afghanistan. Iran and North Korea still pose a threat to American people and American ideals. Foreclosures are still on the rise, and pink slips are still being distributed. Our elected representatives still hide behind the veil of corruption and privilege. Illegal immigrants still cross our borders under the cover of night.

I could go on, but I am sure that you know better than I the plethora of issues still facing our country since you took office. Therefore it alarms me greatly that this Administration finds it important to spend its energy combating a news organization whose point of view it 'doesn't like'.

As a citizen of this country I am offended that your Administration has determined that this qualifies as an act of public service. It is not. Instead, this is the very type of behavior that you promised to eliminate. It is petty. It is immature. And it is unprofessional. Your administration comes across as the playground bully that just got hit with a dodge ball and only knows how to respond by 'roughing up some folks'.

If Fox News is publishing content that is untrue or inaccurate than you should combat it with facts, not with slander. The recent comments by David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel don't convince me that Fox News is biased; instead they convince me that your Administration does not have any facts to present.

Until your Administration grants Fox News the same privileges it gives to other news organizations and is willing to challenge their point of views with fact instead of reverting to slander, I will continue to turn to Fox News for my source of information on your policies. If your Administration has no intentions of ever doing this, than as a taxpayer and citizen I would feel better served if you focused all of your energy and attention on the major issues still facing this great Country and spare me your personal opinion on Fox News.
