Honesty and Wisdom

By SteveRing - Posted on 12 September 2009

A friend of mine who has been following my posts on Florida Today, sent me an email reproving me for arguing with people who are not honest enough to acknowledge the truth of history and who let Obama pass on his constant lies. He reminded me of two Scripture passages: Proverbs 26:4 and 11 and Matthew 7:6. I was reminded that my role is different than that of being a community agitator. So, I will definitely separate myself from any similarities with Obama, ACORN, SEIU and that ilk.

Honesty – this is something that does not exist in Washington, DC nor among the majority of politicians nationwide. There are maybe, two or three exceptions to this in DC but, even these either have or will compromise with evil. I am constantly amazed at the lack of honesty and the ignorance of history among those who breathlessly, with thrills and chills running up their legs, hang on every word issuing forth from Obama.  Take for example the speech before the combined Congress on Wednesday, September 9. From the beginning of this dishonest talk until the end, not one shred of truth was offered. Obama talked about pulling the economy back from the brink. The brink of what – recovery?

Real unemployment stands now at nearly 16.7%, the value of the dollar is crashing internationally, China and Russia are stockpiling gold, oil and all types of commodities. The UN and many member nations are calling for a new currency to be the world standard. Housing prices are expected to fall another 25% in the next year and we have yet to see the commercial real estate collapse that is coming in the first quarter of 2010. These are items that can be verified if you take the time to pull yourself away from TV and go in search of verifiable fact.

Even the state-run media had to admit that Obama was “…less than honest…” during his speech. It is fact that in HR3200, health care for illegal aliens is in the structure of this bill. And yet, the obamatons keep chanting in their lemming fashion that Obama is honest, Right! Sarah Palin called the mandate on pages 427 - 430 of HR3200, “death panels”. The left immediately jumped on her saying, “it doesn’t SAY death panels!” Very true it does not say death panels in the language. However, the language is clear in that the government will decide what treatments you will have as you near the end of your life. And let’s not forget, what Obama told a woman who asked if her mother’s spirit and liveliness would be considered under his idea of universal health care, for installing a pacemaker. He told her that “spirit” was highly subjective and that it “might be better to take a pain pill than to have the operation”. There’s the compassion of your “messiah”.

Further, in an interview on ABC (aka All Barack Channel), Obama was asked if the universal health care plan he advocated were to become reality, would he and his family would give up the Federal plan they are on in favor of his plan. Obama stared in stoney silence and did not answer the question. Hmmm. Honest man is he? If it is good enough for the masses, why isn’t it good enough for him?

Wisdom – It is obvious to me that true wisdom is lost on the obamatons. George Santayana said, “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.’(Life of Reason, Volume I, 1905).Let’s see, have we had anything in our history that indicates Obama’s programs are wrong? I believe there are at least two major precedents in 20th century America that show the fallacy of this man’s spend, spend, spend and tax tremendously policies. First one that comes to mind is FDR, trying to end the Great Depression using this method. In fact, the situation is a very frightening parallel to our current times. FDR took office from a liberal Republican and then doubled down on the liberal Republican’s spending. It did not work, history shows that if FDR had done nothing the Depression would have ended in 4 years. Not my analysis – I only read the information from the truly wise. Instead, tax rates hit nearly 90%, unemployment was at 26% and the ONLY event that pulled the US out was WWII. Oh, by the way, history also indicates that FDR had to overcome the isolationist mood in America by creating the environment in which Japan felt forced to attack.

The next one is the stumble-bum Jimmy Carter. Remember the late 70’s? Mortgage rates at 19.5%, credit card rates over 30%, inflation running at 11% and better. Great times, right obamatons? We are heading right back into that. We are repeating history because Americans have the attention span of a gnat.

No wisdom here, only American Idol and soap operas – truly the opiate of the people. Marx would be proud! Kruschev was right on in his prediction to Ezra Taft Benson in 1959, ‘You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.’

How prophetic these words were. Here we are, on the verge of raising the hammer and sickle over DC in reality. It has already been raised figuratively. Hope you obamatons like what is coming. Just check out the economic conditions of Cuba today and the USSR during the 50’s and 60’s. That is the history we are doomed to repeat.
