Deadline for Nobel Nominations

The deadlines to submit nobel peace prize nominiations is Feb 2, about 8 months prior to the announcement of the winner.  This means that Obama had been nominated after only 1 month in office. 

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," the Norwegian committee said in a statement.

Does this mean that in addition to seeing the Obama logo plastered on top of every American icon (the eagle, the flag, the consitution....seach the internet...you will see) that soon the Obama logo will be plastered on every world icon (pics of the globe, UN, olympics, etc).  Has he now become the worldwide symbol of hope....and undefined, unspecified hope. 

I fear that this type of award is going to propel Obama into a worldwide leadership role that will excuse him from protecting and serving the interests of America first and foremost.

I can think of many more people more deserving of such a recognition.  Any ideas on what Obama plans on doing with the 1.4 million he won?
