Cost to create a stimulus job
Well it seems the hard data is starting to roll in now. So far, 30,383 jobs have been created by companies that have gotten $2.2 billion worth of stimulus contracts directly from the federal government. That equates to $71,500 per job based on just the funds that have been distributed.
I wonder what the sustainability of these jobs are? Could a company have created more jobs with other kinds of government intervention....like tax breaks? Also, how many of these jobs were federal governemnt jobs? I know the article says "companies", but I am made to wonder if the number includes those jobs filled by government agencies?
